Early Intervention 

 

     Through the New Beginnings Early Intervention Program, children are encouraged to develop to their fullest potential.  Intervention services early in a child’s life provided in natural settings has been proven to be effective and beneficial for learning.  The Early Interventionist works with the families and caregivers to learn early childhood development and stimulation techniques and provides service coordination as identified through an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).  Children with disabilities ages birth to age six are eligible to receive Early Intervention.  The Early Interventionist works with community-based services to transition children with disabilities into appropriate educational services with the goal to serve all in regular community settings such as day care centers and public school kindergarten programs, and other. New Beginnings works in conjunction with BabyNet to identify and determine eligibility for infants and toddlers ages birth to three years of age.  For more information contact BabyNet at www.dhec.sc.gov.
