Early Intervention
Through the New Beginnings Early
Intervention Program, children are encouraged to develop to their fullest
potential. Intervention services early
in a child’s life provided in natural settings has been proven to be effective
and beneficial for learning. The Early
Interventionist works with the families and caregivers to learn early childhood
development and stimulation techniques and provides service coordination as
identified through an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Children with disabilities ages birth to age
six are eligible to receive Early Intervention.
The Early Interventionist works with community-based services to
transition children with disabilities into appropriate educational services
with the goal to serve all in regular community settings such as day care
centers and public school kindergarten programs, and other. New Beginnings
works in conjunction with BabyNet to identify and
determine eligibility for infants and toddlers ages birth to three years of
age. For more information contact BabyNet at www.dhec.sc.gov.
